For the coil of the solenoid valve that controls hydraulic pressure inside the automatic transmission, on certain vehicles, it may become disfigured due to improper method of tensioning, and consequently, it may become disconnected as a result of repeated stress created by heat expansion and contraction that is caused by temperature variation of the automatic transmission. If the coil becomes disconnected, the hydraulic pressure will not be adequately controlled, which may cause clutch slippage and/or gear shifting failure, and in the worst case, the vehicle could stall, or move forward even when the gear is in neutral position. The same kind of problem was submitted in RJ-1148-1 on 8th July 2004, but that recall did not cover the period in which the problem existed but was not acknowledged at the time of submission. This RJ-1500-0 is submitted to recall the vehicles that were not included in RJ-1148-1.
